Purple Patch Community Hubs

We are embracing the community spirit and putting on activities for all the family at the Darwin Waterfront and Marrara Sporting Complex during the Arafura Games 2019.

Have a go at drumming, check out your squash skills, learn some sepak takraw, enjoy live music, watch multicultural dance groups, listen to the Congolese choir and try our family obstacle course.

There’s also face painting, stilt walking, pop-up photo booths, info booths, Aboriginal art and culture workshops, didgeridoo workshops and a variety of food stalls (at Marrara only) to choose from.

Marrara Indoor Stadium (lawn area in front) Times: Saturday, 27 April to Friday, 3 May from 9am-8pm and Saturday, 4 May from 9am-2pm.

Darwin Waterfront (near children's playground) Times: Sunday, 28 April to Saturday, 4 May from 10am-7pm.

All events are FREE.

4 April - Conga Line Party

You're invited to celebrate the lead-up to Arafura Games 2019 with Milula and team. There will be lively cultural music, dancing, and fun sports activities.

11 April - Squash

Check out your agility and reflexes as you test your squash skills with Milula and team.

16 April - Basketball 3x3

Come on down to Smith Street Mall and try out some moves and slam dunks with Milula for some high-paced 3x3 basketball action.
