Business Engagement Program
The Northern Territory Government is proud to introduce the Business Engagement Program which will run alongside the Arafura Games 2019 sporting program.
The schedule of events will see key trade and investment partners from neighbouring nations in the Asia Pacific region and beyond to explore the Territory’s unique trade and investment opportunities. Industries include agribusiness, minerals and energy, tourism, innovation, international education, health, migration NT as well as oil and gas supply and services.
Led by the Department of Trade, Business and Innovation, in collaboration with key Northern Territory Government departments and industry stakeholders, the Business Engagement Program is targeted at encouraging international and national investment into the Territory.
To achieve this, the program will:
Showcase the Territory’s unique trade history through a newly curated History of Trade Exhibition
Promote trade and investment opportunities through business hubs
Support expansion of existing and emerging industries through sector specific forums and site tours
Connect and motivate businesses through industry networking functions and business-to-business introductions.

The Business Engagement Program runs from 26 April to 4 May and includes:
History of Trade Exhibition
A new history of trade exhibition will illustrate the diverse and fascinating history of trade between the Top End of Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. The History of Trade Exhibition will showcase the commodities and industries which have been historically important to the Northern Territory.
The History of Trade Exhibition will be located at the Darwin Convention Centre Level 2 from Saturday 27 April to Saturday 4 May and open to the public from 8.00am to 5.00pm.
Targeted networking events will provide participants with opportunities to connect with local and international delegates. Businesses wishing to participate will need to register. Further information will be available on the website.
Targeted business matching for NT businesses and visiting delegates.
Business hubs will be located at Marrara and the Darwin Convention Centre in close proximity to Arafura Games sporting events. The hubs will provide collateral to encourage engagement with international and national trade and investment stakeholders and will promote sectors such as agribusiness, minerals and energy, tourism, innovation, international education, health, migration NT and oil and gas supply and service.
Tailored program delivered for key domestic and international investment partners to highlight opportunities for national and international trade and investment in the Territory. In addition, there will be a series of sector forums and site tours to promote local investment opportunities.
